Job Summary
Crosland views an Athletic Director/ PE Instructor as a vital member of our educational team. Our ideal candidate will possess a knowledge base and passion for working with students with learning differences and be able to help students try activities they haven’t tried before.

Reports: Head of School
Duties
- Teach PE classes ranging from Kindergarten to high school PE/Health
- Organize school-wide field day/event
- Attend all athletic director meetings for conferences(CGAA and MAAC)
- Collect sports physicals yearly and be sure each student is up to date
- Collect registration for each sport
- Work with Business Office for payment collection
- Be sure all sports are equipped with a coach
- Obtain a coach and prepare a contract for each sport/coach (HR for background check)
- Obtain gym, field, or court space when necessary
- Attend all home games/matches
- Discuss student eligibility with school administrators
- Develop and regulate the budget and appropriate spending for equipment, facilities, salaries, referees/umpires, and more.
- Be sure all recess equipment is rotated, tossed, and replenished as needed
- Conduct yearly budget report
- Organize Athletic Banquet/celebration for students with awards
- Modify and adapt traditional PE curricula to meet the diverse sensory, motor, and cognitive needs of students with learning differences.
- Ensure all athletic activities and facilities comply with safety standards and school liability policies
- Maintain and update the Athletics Handbook for coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
- Current teams: basketball, flag football, cross country, pickleball
- Lead the strategic planning, resource procurement, and recruitment for new athletic offerings, including Esports, golf, and cheer
Requirements
- Proven experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development within a physical education setting
- Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Adaptive PE, Therapeutic Recreation, or similar programming, or a license in a related field
- Strong desire to support students with learning differences
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Promote an inclusive athletic culture that celebrates participation, personal growth, and sportsmanship over ‘win-at-all-costs’ competition.
- Desire to continue to develop professionally by learning new programs and methodologies, and curriculum

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
