We are seeking a high energy, inspiring individual as Assistant Store Manager who can help lead a talented retail team. Delivering outstanding customer service is our priority. In collaboration with the owners/management, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day store operations driving a vibrant community and sports-oriented culture.
Our primary sports are ice hockey, ski and snowboard, but we also sell baseball, lacrosse, bicycle, fitness, golf, soccer, football, racquet, inline, and water sports.
Our niche is that we carry both new and quality used gear as well as sports gear rentals and shop services. Play It Again Sports is the sporting goods store for your entire family. We have a dynamic environment and are always looking to improve on what we do.
Job Responsibilities – Our ideal candidate will:
- Participate with the owners in all aspects of the business including merchandising, marketing, purchasing, and sales development;
- Promote and enhance our store culture as a fun, positive, and productive work environment;
- Be a leader and work to develop each sales team member to their fullest potential;
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product;
- Be responsible and initiate completion of tasks or activities without necessary supervision.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age;
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; completion of post-secondary education will be considered an asset;
- Minimum 1-3 years of leadership experience in retail or a service-related industry; prior knowledge in similar product lines a plus, but willing to train the right candidate;
- Flexibility to work retail store hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed;
- Have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and be on your feet for a shift, up to 10 hours at a time with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Be active and passionate about sports!
