SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $60,000

POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Associate Athletic Director assists the Athletic Director in the comprehensive management and operation of the institution’s athletic programs. This position ensures compliance with all governing bodies (e.g., NCAA, Conference, state/local leagues) and promotes an environment where student-athletes can achieve excellence academically, athletically, and personally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Program & Staff Supervision:

• • Serve as a sport administrator for designated varsity or club programs, including supervising, mentoring, and evaluating assigned coaches.

• • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new coaches and staff.

• • Assist with conflict resolution among student-athletes, coaches, and parents.

• Compliance and Eligibility:

• • Assist and ensure compliance with all leagues, conference, and institutional rules and regulations regarding student eligibility and conduct.

• • Assist with the completion and submission of mandatory reports (e.g., EADA, NCAA reports).

• • Coordinate rule education and professional development for staff and student-athletes.

• Administrative & Financial Management:

• • Assist the Athletic Director with the development, implementation, and management of operating and capital budgets for assigned programs.

• • Assist, coordinate and manage athletic facility scheduling and maintenance.

• Assist and oversee the purchasing and inventory of uniforms, equipment, and supplies.

• Game & Event Operations:

• • Assume responsibility for the organization, logistics, and scheduling of athletic events, including officials, transportation, and facility use.

• • Assist and Coordinate game-day management, including supervision of support personnel (e.g., ticket sales, security, concessions).

• Student-Athlete Welfare & Success:

• • Assist, develop and implement strategies to promote student-athlete retention, academic success, and wellness.

• • Work with relevant departments (e.g., academics, student services) to support student-athletes’ college readiness and overall development.

• • Maintain accurate records for student-athlete participation and health.

• External Relations & Communication:

• • Assist with marketing, publicity, and public relations, including managing social media and website content to advertise events and accomplishments.

• • Assist and Aid in coordinating fundraising events and community engagement activities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, graduate degree preferred
• Experience in middle/high school athletics, administrator level preferred.
• Have or be able to obtain Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) Certificate within the first year of employment.
