Position Summary:

Minot State University, an NCAA Division II institution and proud member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of all facets of the women’s wrestling program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to athletic and academic excellence and uphold the values and mission of Minot State University and its athletics department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage aspects of the women’s wrestling program as determined by the head coach, including team strategy, coaching, recruitment, planning team travel, and logistics.

Foster a competitive and positive program culture that supports the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.

Coordinate with the Assistant AD for Compliance and Student Life to ensure eligibility and adherence to NCAA, NSIC, and institutional regulations.

Organize and assist head coach in facilitating regular team practices, workouts, and skill development sessions.

Assist and execute a strategic recruitment plan to attract and retain quality student-athletes.

Oversee team travel and logistical planning for games and recruiting.

Engage in fundraising efforts and organize youth instructional camps to support and promote the wrestling program.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications and Media Relations to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of program news, statistics, and promotional materials.

Track and support the academic progress and overall welfare of student-athletes within the program.

Promote strong community and alumni relations, enhancing the visibility and reputation of the wrestling program on and off campus.

Maintain high ethical standards and model sportsmanship and leadership.

Participate in departmental meetings, campus committees, and other initiatives supporting the broader university community.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, or within one-year of degree attainment

Collegiate coaching experience strongly preferred

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and motivational abilities

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Successful completion of a criminal history background check required before employment
