Assistant Volleyball Coach Jobs in Sterling at RE-1 Valley School District
- Assist with planning and conducting practices that focus on skill development, conditioning, teamwork, and game preparation.
- Teach proper volleyball fundamentals and techniques.
- Assist with game strategy, scouting, and player development.
- Provide encouragement, instruction, and constructive feedback to student-athletes.
- Support the development of leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship among team members.
- Promote academic success and monitor athlete eligibility requirements.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
- Encourage respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Assist with supervision of athletes during practices, contests, travel, and team activities.
- Support team logistics including equipment management, uniforms, and game-day responsibilities.
- Assist with program communications as directed by the Head Coach.
- Participate in youth and feeder program activities when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and athletic department.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, officials, and community members.
- Attend coaches’ meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Support district and athletic department goals and expectations.
- Follow all district policies, athletic department procedures, and CHSAA regulations.
- Maintain required coaching certifications and trainings.
- Ensure proper supervision and safety of student-athletes.
- Report injuries, incidents, and concerns according to district procedures.
- Previous volleyball coaching or related experience preferred.
- Experience working with middle school and/or high school students preferred.
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, safety standards, and team development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.

Hold or be willing to obtain:
- CHSAA Coaching Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Ability to follow district policies and CHSAA regulations.
- Knowledge of volleyball techniques, safety expectations, and program management.
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, coaches, and school personnel.
