Assistant Varsity/Jr. High Cheer/Competitive Spirit Advisor

Summary
Lewisburg Area High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Varsity/Jr. High Cheer/Competitive Spirit Advisor. This position is designed for a motivated individual who has a passion for cheerleading and competitive spirit programs. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop and implement training programs, foster team spirit, and promote a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and executing daily practices, drills, and training sessions for both varsity and junior high cheer teams.
• Collaborate with the head coach to develop competitive routines, choreography, and performance strategies.
• Support the recruitment and retention of team members by promoting the cheer program within the school and community.
• Organize and supervise team events, including competitions, fundraisers, and community service activities.
• Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and events.
• Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to cheerleaders to enhance their skills and confidence.
• Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Previous experience in cheerleading, coaching, or a related field, with a strong understanding of cheer techniques and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of competitive cheerleading rules and regulations, as well as current trends in cheer and spirit programs.
