Lewisburg Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic program as an Assistant Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing a competitive and cohesive team environment, fostering both athletic skill and personal growth among student-athletes. This is a seasonal position that requires a commitment to the team’s practice and competition schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, focusing on skill development, team strategies, and game preparation.
• Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and game day preparations.
• Provide individual and group instruction to athletes, emphasizing fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and make in-game decisions during competitions.
• Monitor the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes, ensuring they maintain eligibility and balance their commitments.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
• Assist in the evaluation of athlete performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
• Attend all scheduled practices, games, and team meetings, demonstrating a commitment to the program and its athletes.
• Uphold the values and standards of Lewisburg Area High School and the athletic department.

Requirements

• Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletes, and other staff members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing team logistics and schedules.
• A commitment to fostering a positive team environment that emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and personal development.
• Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events.
