Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach Jobs in San Antonio, USA at Inside Higher Ed
The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach reports to the Head Soccer Coach and is a key member of the coaching team, providing leadership and vision within the Athletics Department and among the student athletes. The position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the men’s soccer program, including recruiting, scheduling opponents, fundraising, strength & conditioning, developing annual service/engagement projects for student‑athletes, planning and preparing for matches and practices, mentoring and evaluating student‑athletes, and academic monitoring.
The coach must abide by the rules and regulations of Texas A&M University‑San Antonio, the Red River Athletics Conference, and the NAIA, and uphold the university’s commitment to the education mission.

- Assist the head coach and other staff with routine administrative responsibilities and management of both soccer teams.
- Coach at the direction of the head coach and provide instruction, demonstration, and teaching of the sport’s dynamics to student‑athletes.
- Recruit and scout prospective student‑athletes from high schools, junior and community colleges.
- Make recommendations to the head coach regarding the potential of student‑athletes.
- Stay current with NAIA and RRAC guidelines, maintain up‑to‑date rosters, squad lists, and other information; report any rule violations to the proper officials.
- Coordinate team travel, competitive scheduling, practice sessions, recruiting, and file maintenance.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive public‑relations program.
- Assist in managing sport camps and/or clinics.
- Manage department fund‑raising and booster events in accordance with NAIA, RRAC, institutional rules, and system policies.
- Establish and enforce student‑athlete conduct, appearance, punctuality, and other standards.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or higher in a related field.
Preferred
Education and Experience
- Previous experience playing or coaching intercollegiate soccer within the NAIA.
