What We Want
The Assistant Manager is responsible for developing, proposing and implementing marketing plans for the purpose of encouraging increased attendance and enhancing the fan experience for select athletic programs. This includes designing and placing advertising materials, developing and directing promotions, managing gameday staff, and being the primary athletics marketing contact for the respective sport. Responsible for collaborating with corporate sponsorships, 12th Man Foundation (donations & ticketing), 12th Man Productions (video), and other athletics support staff on a daily basis. Assist in managing a student staff of 20-25 individuals.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years Marketing/Promotions experience in a sport related or customer service field
Preferred Education and Experience
- Four years in intercollegiate athletics experience; event management and game operations experience, digital marketing experience, community outreach experience, and customer service
- Goal and task oriented with strong customer relations, problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Creative and self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks
Responsibilities
PROMOTIONS & SPONSORSHIP ACTIVATION
Creates, directs, and enhances in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience. Works with A&M corporate partnerships to implement sponsored inventory as it relates to assigned sports and maximize engagement on sold promotions. Design and places advertising materials. Collaborates with corporate sponsorships, 12th Man Foundation (donations & ticketing), 12th Man Productions (video), and other athletics support staff on a daily basis
MARKETING AND ADVERTISING INITIATIVES
Develops and establishes priorities for achieving goals with respective sport 365 meetings and discussions related to Marketing in support of our student-athletes and coaches. Establishes objectives related to their assigned team/sport. Responsible for planning and implementing marketing initiatives to increase attendance at assigned sports while working closely and communicating effectively with coaches and staff. Evaluates existing marketing strategies and provides input into improving overall effectiveness of those strategies. Develops and directs promotions. Serves as the primary athletics marketing contact for the respective sport.
PROJECT & EVENT MANAGEMENT
Appropriately manages time and monitor’s budget to meet project goals by deadline. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and long-range planning activities. Coordinates and evaluates business function, division, or departmental activities. Manages gameday/event staff to maximize efficiency and collaborate with personnel as needed.
STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
Assists in managing and mentoring 20-25 student marketing team employees. Plans and assigns work to student marketing team employees. Assists with hiring throughout the year and providing performance feedback at the end of the fall and spring semesters.
BRAND AMBASSADOR
Serves as an ambassador of A&M Athletics at scheduled community outreach engagement opportunities with the intent of increasing A&M Athletics event attendances and exposing external constituents to the A&M brand.
COMPLIANCE
Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.

- This position is security sensitive
- This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
- All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements
- Nights, weekends, and holidays are required to complete assigned duties. May require at times, light lifting, standing at length and other physical activities both indoor and outdoor.
