Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The primary functions of this position are to assist the head Golf Coach in providing instruction, guidance, and supervision to NACC women’s and/or men’s golf teams, to possess knowledge of NJCAA and ACCS college sports policies, and to coordinate the activities of the NACC golf teams. In addition, this position must comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in providing golf instruction to student-athletes
  • Assist in the evaluation, recruiting, and recommending of student-athletes for golf scholarships
  • Assist in the supervision of student-athletes to and from golf matches and while attending college, ACCS, and NJCAA events
  • Travel to and attend golf practices and matches
  • Attend practices and matches
  • Plan and complete travel arrangements and accommodations for all golf matches
  • Assist with the registration and application process of golf-related activities for NACC
  • Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on ACCS and NJCAA rules and regulations
  • Communicate regularly with the immediate supervisor and the President regarding team activities and business
  • Maintain accurate records and compile reports as requested
  • Have knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy and objectives of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College
  • Represent the College and its philosophy to prospective students and to others in the community
  • Participate in required training
  • Perform any additional duties that may be assigned
  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Demonstrated skill in golf and golf related instruction is required
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to assist students, faculty, staff, and community members, including those of diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work day or evening hours, which may include travel and overnight stays
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations as they relate to ACCS and NJCAA events
  • Knowledge of established policies and procedures of the college
  • Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college
