Job Summary
The Assistant Coach for volleyball will work closely with the volleyball coaching staff and student-athletes to provide support.

This position provides experience in sports management, equipment preparation, maintenance, and care. Assist in promoting and sustaining a collegial, respectful, and high-performing work environment and demonstrating LSSC’s core values of caring, communicating, collaborating, and celebrating.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with daily volleyball operations, including practice/game day equipment set-up/breakdown; equipment and practice area maintenance, laundry of game uniforms, and assisting the coach with preparation and stats.
- Coordinate and manage volleyball practices and games.
- Assist in the recruiting process of volleyball student-athletes who exhibit regard for character and excellence in their lives.
- Assist with teaching sound volleyball fundamentals, which are merged with sound strategy that results in efficient performance by athletes.
- Foster good conduct by players and coaches by setting a good personal example.
- Assist with ensuring safety in all aspects of the volleyball program.
- Support the head coach in monitoring equipment and volleyball facility needs and assist with maintenance and care of the convocation center.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures provided by LSSC, FCSAA, and NJCAA.
Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications; especially Word and Excel
- Customer service skills and etiquette in dealing with customers in person and on the phone
- Basic English and math skills are required for clerical work and ticket sales
- Ability to alphabetize and file
- Attention to detail and proficiency in organization is required
- Previous office experience preferred

Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Required:
- Associate’s Degree
- Two years of coaching experience, preferably post-secondary education, high school, or elite level.

- Prior coaching and playing experience
