Position Overview
A vacancy exists within the Golf Operations Department at Jumeirah Golf Estates for the position of Assistant Cart Technician.
The Assistant Cart Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, servicing, repair, and daily operation of the golf cart fleet and related equipment. The role ensures all golf carts are maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition, contributing to an exceptional experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily inspection, servicing, and maintenance of the golf cart fleet.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on electric and petrol golf carts.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and battery-related issues.
- Monitor battery charging, water levels, and overall battery performance.
- Ensure all golf carts are clean, fully charged, and available for daily operations.
- Carry out tyre inspections, brake checks, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Report major mechanical faults to the Cart Technician or Golf Operations Manager.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
- Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and spare parts are organized and properly maintained.
- Assist in inventory control for spare parts, batteries, tyres, and workshop consumables.
- Ensure all workshop equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.
- Support the Golf Operations team during tournaments, events, and busy operational periods.
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and workshop safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Respond promptly to golf cart breakdowns on the golf course when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Golf Operations Manager or Cart Technician Supervisor.
Skills & Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in golf cart maintenance, automotive mechanics, or small engine repair is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of electric vehicles, batteries, charging systems, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance record keeping.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting equipment and spare parts.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
