Position: Aquatics Lifeguard Instructor Role
Join the City of Barrie as an Aquatics Lifeguard Instructor to promote safety at local pools and beaches while engaging in instructional activities. This part-time position focuses on delivering quality aquatic education and monitoring open swim.
As a critical team member under the Recreation Programmer – Aquatics, you will be responsible for safeguarding public safety during swimming activities. This role involves teaching lesson programs and providing excellent customer service while adhering to community recreation goals. Flexibility to work at various locations and shifts is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safeguard pools and beach areas during activities
• Teach aquatics lessons with enthusiasm and expertise
• Monitor recreational swim and ensure participant safety
• Uphold a friendly and professional public image
• Support recreation facility management duties
Requirements:
• NL Pool Certification required
• Swim Instructor Certification essential
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends
