Aqua Fitness Instructor
Under general supervision and guidance of the Head Lifeguard/Aquatics Supervisor and guidance from the Recreation Programmer, the Aqua Fitness Instructor leads instruction of Aqua Zumba classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Rockport Pool during the summer season. Other evening opportunities may arise at Palmer Pool.

Creates and plans class instruction plans and provides related equipment including corresponding music.
Provides instruction through demonstrating proper and safe technique and form for aqua fitness exercises and movement.
Maintains a presence with proper apparel and equipment.
Scans and surveys the pool for potential issues or safety concerns. Makes class modifications or individual participant modifications as needed.
Provides necessary first aid and/or CPR and reacts appropriate in emergency situations.
Follows all safety regulations, policies, and procedures; reports all unsafe conditions and acts to supervisor; reports all accidents to the supervisor immediately whenever possible; follows recognized safe work practices.
Other duties:
Keeps proper records of attendance for each class.
Informs Supervisors of issues that arise.
Provides polite customer service to all class participants.
Performs other duties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of the position. Education, Certifications and
Experience:
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Previous experience in teaching aerobic and/or aqua fitness classes preferred.

Zumba certification desired.
