We are seeking a passionate and energetic Afterschool Coordinator/Teacher to lead engaging, safe, and enriching programs for children in our community. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement diverse afterschool activities that support early childhood education, sports coaching, theater, arts and crafts, and other enrichment programs.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and foster a respectful, inclusive environment for all children.
- Supervise children during activities, snack times, outdoor play, and transitions to ensure safety at all times.
- Coordinate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and provide updates on children’s development.
- Maintain a safe environment by applying first aid when necessary and adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention in line with best practices in special education.
- Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum plans that promote childhood development and social skills growth.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR required or obtainable upon hire.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development preferred.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
