Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dependable, nurturing, and energetic Childcare Center Closer to join our team. This position is responsible for supervising children during the final hours of the day and ensuring the center is clean, organized, and secure at closing time.
The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive, and able to maintain a calm, structured environment while supporting children and staff through end-of-day transitions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children during afternoon and closing hours
- Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment
- Assist with combining classrooms while maintaining proper ratios
- Communicate with parents/guardians during pick-up
- Support children with end-of-day routines (clean-up, restroom, gathering belongings)
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, toys, and common areas
- Complete daily closing duties and checklist
- Ensure all children are signed out properly
- Secure the building (lock doors, turn off lights, check all rooms)
- Report any concerns or incidents to management
- Assist team members as needed
- Supervise children for our Summer Camp program also during after school hours , ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement and support educational activities, arts and crafts, etc.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
- Facilitate recreational activities such as sports coaching, camp-style games, and group outings to encourage teamwork and social skills
- Maintain a clean, organized environment by setting up activity spaces and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and program coordinators to report on progress or concerns related to children’s development or behavior
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring is highly preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire
- Background in special education or early childhood education is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse background.
