Job Responsibilities:
- Review and process new customer applications and credit approvals for credit customers, determining appropriate credit limits and setting up new customer accounts accurately.
- Provide support to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and assist with various tasks within the department.
- Record and post daily cash receipts, including cash, checks, ACH, and wires, in the accounting system for assigned accounts.
- Proactively contact customers to address any collection issues and minimize bad debts.
- Take ownership of customer issues and work towards resolving them under AR Supervisor’s instructions.
- Investigate, follow up and reconcile returns, chargebacks, and unknown payment deductions with customers.
- Maintain organized and accurate records for major and club customers’ accounts, ensuring timely updates in the accounting system.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) accounts and promptly communicate any discrepancies or potential problems to AR Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with AR policies and procedures and report accordingly in a timely manner.
- Provide recommendations for improving the Accounts Receivable/Credit operations to AR Supervisor.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly AR tasks promptly.
- Quickly grasp our company’s system and operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an AA degree in accounting or business administration.
- 2+ years of experience working in AR accounting and collections.
- Experience dealing with big box retailers is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Dynamics is preferred.
- A background in a similar merchandise industry is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour
