Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate 5-12 Band Teacher to inspire and educate students across middle school and high school grades. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for grades 5 through 12, covering various musical genres and techniques.
- Deliver engaging instruction in instrumental and vocal music, incorporating creative writing, public speaking, and performance skills.
- Utilize diverse teaching tools including learning technology to enhance student engagement and understanding of music theory.
- Assess student progress through performance evaluations, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Mentor students in extracurricular activities such as choir, band, or orchestra; support their participation in competitions or performances.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating special education or Montessori methods where appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress; offer academic advising and support for childhood development goals.
- Contribute to school events by coaching sports or organizing community outreach programs that promote teamwork and leadership skills.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance assessments; ensure compliance with school policies and educational standards.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience teaching middle school and high school students students in a formal educational setting is a plus.
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to develop curriculum that integrates learning technology effectively.
- Strong mentoring skills with a background in classroom management, behavior management, public speaking, and academic advising are essential.

Pay: From $50,200.00 per year
