Primary Purpose:
- To assist the physical education teacher in all aspects of his/her job.
- Helping with small groups, supervising, discipline, equipment management and class orientation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Have knowledge of the basic rules of games and activities in physical education.
Minimum Experience:
- Working with children in some organization, and exhibit an interest in physical education.
Major Responsibilities:
- Equipment management (this requires some lifting), setting up and putting away each day.
- Supervising of small groups in different activities.
- Escorting of students to and from class.
- Helping to coordinate cluster meet and field day.
- Duplicate copies of rules, tests, or notes to be sent home.
- Acting as scorekeeper and referee during games.
- Help administer physical fitness test.
- Work with students having difficulty mastering a skill one-on-one.
- Assist with special programs and projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the principal and /or physical education teacher.
